How is the TOM ranking built?

The survey is applied to professionals aged 20 to 35, employees of companies participating in the Employers For Youth (EFY) and Best Internship Experiences (BIE) studies.
Participants answer two questions:

  • Mention 3 companies you would like to work for. And, Why?

  • Mention 3 companies you would No like to work for. And, Why?

Answers are open-ended; there is no dropdown or autocomplete list. Participants may not mention their current company, either in preferred or rejected.

How is each company’s score calculated?

As a 100% quantitative study, we assign points based on participants’ answers:

  • +3 points for the first company mentioned

  • +2 points for the second company mentioned

  • +1 point for the third company mentioned

We weight a score based on how often each company was mentioned in each position
